Know which shore excursions are worth it before you book

“My husband and I (late 30s-40s) had a great time on this excursion! We don't typically book through the cruise line, but we really wanted to be sure to see the Pitons. We had heard that driving there can be difficult, uncomfortable, and time-consuming, so going by Catamaran was the best option. The boat was docked a few steps away from the ship, so no coach ride to get to it. We saw plenty of beautiful scenery along the way and pulled into a quiet little inlet to swim off the boat. Then we continued on to the Pitons where we dropped anchor and the crew facilitated everyone getting pictures of themselves with the Pitons in the background. While this was happening, they played fun music and the drinks began flowing! The rum punches (they also offered beer and sodas) got us nice and relaxed--and they were definitely NOT stingy with them! We had to turn down refills offered by the crew multiple times! In generally, everyone was smiling and appeared to be having a great time. We all returned to the ship smiling and pleasantly buzzed. The crew was incredible! They were all very friendly and really made sure that everyone was comfortable, got a picture of their group with the Pitons and the St. Lucian flag , and relaxed during the 4 hour excursion. It was well worth the $110pp we paid and is one of the most memorable parts of our trip.”

“We did this and really enjoyed it. Our guide knew so much about the plants in the Botanic Garden. The distillery was amazing and on the grounds there is a beautiful contemporary sculpture park. The rum flows freely. Highly recommended.”

“I went on a walking food tour in NYC that involved several stops for photos and bites along the way. This was not that. Our tour guide was running late, so our tour was moving at a break neck pace that didn’t allow for pictures which seemed like a misstep for a tourist based excursion. We also stopped at a restaurant and were given menus with prices without being told it was included in our fare so we just ordered cokes. Honestly, we didn’t have enough time to order real food anyways so I guess it didn’t matter in the end.”
